My first dog, at the age of 5, was a Doberman Pincher who thought she was a gentle poodle! Growing up I never played with dolls, just stuffed animals; which turned into a love of real animals. I am much more of a dog person, but have had cats, guinea pigs, hamsters and fish.
I finished college with a BA in Child Psychology and a Teaching Certificate. I have been in the Child Care industry as a Center Director since 1998. I believe that children are the heart of the world.
My sister in law Nancy was a successful businesswoman who founded and owned a $300 million dollar media buying service, Pro Media, Inc., in 1980. She retired after 26 years in business. Nancy and I began this business being true animal lovers; my Puggle, Shayna, and Nancy's Bichon Frise, Alex. We began to talk about how we could use this platform to raise money and awareness for the good of research. People spend a lot of money on their pets. That’s how Wearing4Life, LLP was formed. Our tags have our logo on one side and the charity logo that has joined our mission on the other.
My mother passed away from cancer the same day I found out I was pregnant with my son; my cousin passed away from Breast cancer; my grandmother had suffered from Parkinson’s and my grandfather passed away from Alzheimer’s.
I am a true animal lover. My family has personally been touched with various diseases through my life, which is what Wearing4Life is all about.
Nancy was misdiagnosed with Parkinson's in 2012, but was ultimately diagnosed with MSA.
Nancy passed on August 25, 2016.
